I think the writer has a small point, Im not sure this was the main reason this game sold, but it probably sure helped. The terrorism and evil Russian angle is very realistic, and I think that is key with games like this.

Stop with the "this was a PS3 exclusive crap" it was never a PS3 exclusive, Sony never paid for that, so it never was. Like I said you pea brains are lucky they didn't say screw the PS3 version when it started giving them problems and dam near ruined their company. They could have released it on 360 when it was finished last year and made plenty of money, 360 sells games unlike the PS3.
If it was a PS3 exclusive it would not be on 360, you have to buy exlcusives nowadays, especially if you are Sony, 360 gets them by default because of the Cells inabilities to compute game code.
In reality it is you who is lucky, the 360 was the lead platform, you are lucky they didn't just say to h#ll with the POS3 version when it started giving them troube and release the 360 version last year!

if HDDVD stays around and gets dirt cheap, you can just buy Heros on that platform for a fraction of the price it will cost on bluray. Movies and players will be insanely cheap if HDDVD starts to die off completely, why not pick one up, there are plenty of exclusive movies on that format to justify the purchase if the price is low enough.

this game deserves it, it's a awesome title. 360 is a money making machine, I cant believe 11 titles have crossed the 2 million mark!
like said above, this will keep them in the gaming business, and hopefully give them reason to improve their efforts in it even more. I do wonder what Nintendo made, but like MS said their revenues were greater than even Nintendo so they probably had greater or equal profits. Sony on the other hand I think may still be in the red, PS2 is not enough to make up for the cost of under selling games and a console that sells at a loss.
Nintendo and even Sony to a lesser degree have had many titles like this, Japanese companies always put Japanese first. Nintendo is especially guilty of this. This is why I support MS even though they irritate the snot outta me, they put my gaming needs as first priority when ever possible, and they always will, why people choose to be so supportive of Nintendo I will never understand, they really dont give a f*ck about gamers or any non Japanese period.
this thing is a great piece of hardware, they did a great job on it, props for this one MS. The vision cam is awesome to, it just has so few uses for actual gaming, I do like the scan your face feature in Rainbow 6 vegas, can't believe how well that works. I hope its in RB6II
wow the 360 is a monster in software sales, that is a very impressive number for a console that is so young.
Im not sure this game can be compared to Halo or GOW, but it is certainly superior to those other games you listed.
